My name is Adam from the Instagram/YouTube channel @knotdude. Plants have been a huge therapy for me when I didn’t even know that I needed them. Plants entered my life at a time when I was really struggling with my identity. I didn’t like who I was or who I was pretending to be rather. My plants didn’t care. They provided my life with copious amounts of joy as I navigated coming to terms with my authentic self. I have been growing plants in my home for the better part of 5 years and have learned a lot from these green babes.
After moving to Arizona in 2019, I noticed a shift in my houseplant collection. The desert can be brutal and a lot of my tropical foliage plants took a dive. My Hoya were thriving though! That’s when I really started to fall in love with the Hoya genus and their care aligned with the amount of work I was willing to put into my plants. They really can take some neglect.
When Lydia approached me about joining TGP I didn't even need to think about it. YES! I was in and getting to do what I love. I love to propagate plants. The entire process brings me so much joy and getting to do what I love with people who I love, what more could you ask for in life?
